How private-label sports sunglasses are made: MOQ, logos, packaging and lead times
A step-by-step guide to launching a private-label sports sunglasses line with a factory: minimum order quantities, logo methods, lens and colour options, packaging and typical timelines.

Short answer: A private-label sports sunglasses order usually moves through six steps: brief, quotation, pre-production samples, approval, bulk production with in-line QC, and final inspection and shipping. Stock-mould models start from around 50 pieces per colour for plain frames and around 300 pieces for a custom logo, with samples in roughly 7–15 days and bulk in roughly 25–40 days depending on decoration and lenses.
1. Write a one-page brief
The fastest projects start with a short brief. Include the sport and use, target retail price, market (for compliance), the models you like from our catalogue, lens options, colours, logo positions and packaging. A reference photo of a competitor product is fine.
2. Quotation and model shortlist
We reply with a shortlist of frames that already have production moulds, so you avoid tooling cost. Each quote lists unit price by quantity break, lens options, decoration method and sample cost.
3. Pre-production samples
Samples are made with your colours, lens and logo. Typical timing is 7–15 days, plus courier time. Check fit, logo placement, finish quality and lens clarity. Request any colour corrections now rather than after bulk.
4. Approval and deposit
Approved samples become the golden sample, signed and kept by both sides. Production starts on deposit.
5. Bulk production and QC
A typical bulk run takes 25–40 days, depending on quantity, decoration and lens type. Photochromic and custom-coated lenses add time. Quality checks run at incoming materials, after injection, after spraying and decoration, and at final assembly.
6. Final inspection and shipping
Before shipping we inspect against the golden sample using AQL sampling. You can also appoint a third-party inspector. Goods ship by express, air or sea under the incoterm you choose.

Packaging
From simple OPP bags and microfibre pouches through to zip EVA cases, magnetic PU boxes and printed colour boxes with hang tabs. Most packaging accepts your logo from a few hundred pieces.
Mistakes that cost time
- Approving artwork without a physical sample.
- Ordering a dozen colourways at the minimum each instead of three strong ones.
- Forgetting compliance labelling for the target market. See our compliance guide.

Frequently asked questions
What is the MOQ for custom logo sports sunglasses?
On our existing moulds, a custom logo usually starts at 300 pieces per model, and plain or ready-to-ship models can start from 50 pieces. Exact MOQs are listed on each product page or quoted per model.
How long does a sample take?
Stock samples ship within a few days. Samples with your logo, colour and lens usually take 7–15 days. A brand-new mould takes considerably longer and is quoted separately.
Which logo method lasts longest on a TR90 frame?
Laser engraving and metal inlay plates are the most durable. Pad printing and silk printing are cheaper and allow full colour but can wear with heavy use. Lens-corner laser etching is a subtle premium option.
